What is a Virtual Book Tour?
It's a book tour that happens over the internet. Your readers get to send in questions just like they'd ask you at a live event. At a scheduled time, the writer is interviewed live. Readers are given a number they can call in to listen to the live call. The interview is converted to audio that can be added to your website, sent out in email newsletters and given as a sample in response to radio interview requests.

Why they Work . . .
The story I'm about to tell you is true
It happened to me in October of 2004, at a bookstore in Berkeley when I was promoting my book, If Women Ruled the World.
This was the month before the 2004 Presidential election, on a topic of interest in Berkley. We even had the added draw of being sponsored by a local women's activist group with raffle drawings and everything. I don't generally enjoy book store talks because the turn out is so unpredictable, yet I continued to do book tours according to my publishers wishes whenever a new book was released. This was my 10th book!
When it was time to begin, there were about 20 women in their seats–to set the scene you need to know refreshments were available, a wine and appetizer table sat invitingly out in the garden at the side of the building. Still, with oodles of advertisement, the lure of give aways, free food and drink the turn out was still low.
The talk went great with engaging dialogue from women in the audience who told stories of driving over state lines to get an abortion at the time when abortion was illegal. The older group turned to each other and said with great sadness that this generation of women don't know or appreciate how they had to fight to give us all the rights that are taken for granted. All in all this was one of my best bookstore events. After the event was over, as I was thanking the staff who had worked so hard to put this event on, I asked how many books they sold. The answer was 37. Really, not bad considering there were only 20 women in attendance.
But I have to admit that on my drive home that night I decided I was not going to do another live book tour. It took so much time and energy to travel around the country and arrange my household so that it would function when I was gone. I'd return and it would take me a week to get back on track. I needed to find a better way!
On my drive home I grappled with these questions . . . . .
- How could I promote my book and get my message out with the same kind of open minded chat I had within the confines of that bookstore with hundreds of readers instead of 20?
- How could I do this without all the traveling, hotel costs, child care costs and time away from my writing?
- How could I turn these chats into a product that I could sell at a later time?
The answer . . . . . .Virtual Book Tours!
Virtual Book Tours–they can be done from your home, you can chat with as many readers as you want, even answer questions just like in person events. Best, is that you can re-purpose your talks; turn them into CD's, audio books and podcasts.
With the answer I felt this great relief. I could have a relationship with my readers without that interaction taking over my life!
It works!
How would you like to sell 100 books, even 1000 books a shot instead of the small stack sold at bookstore events?
How would it feel to do it from the comfort of your own home?
Imagine all the profits you can make by re-purposing your content!
You can do it too!

We do everything. All you need to do is send the completed invitation to your email list. On the day of the event, we do the interview call live–right from the comfort of your home. It doesn't matter how many people show up, we still have a surplus of questions to ask you. The reason we do this interview live is that you'll sound different knowing that people might be listening! We will then edit the interview and give you the audio links to put on your website, send in emails, put into a podcast or use to create a CD.
